On the pages of this blog, I’ve had cause to mention once or twice just how lucky I am as a wedding photographer in Surrey to have access to some of the best churches and venues for weddings of anywhere in the world. Rosie and Kev’s ceremony and celebration after are proof of that in a truly stellar fashion. Once you’ve had a chance to take a look at a few of the photos from their two days of celebration and revelry, I’m sure you’ll agree.
We began with capturing all the little details that went into preparation for the ceremony. For Rosie and Kev, this was a big day. Fortunately, they had plenty of friends to make things go well. One thing I love is capturing those moments of anticipation with the bride and groom before the ceremony proper. There is such a range of sincere emotion from the time the bride-to-be sits down to start her makeup and hair, to the moment the dress is on and she is fully ready for the commitment to come. Rosie was surrounded by a group of great friends as she prepared and I was lucky enough to capture all the smiles and laughs every step of the way. I was able to blend into the background and take the moments as they came. Once all the details had been attended to Rosie and her ladies had time for something a bit more formal but still fun.
On the groom’s side, things were going just as well. One look at the smile on Kev’s face, which didn’t leave the whole day, tells you exactly what Rosie and Kev’s story is all about; a true love. I’ve seen lots of happy grooms, Kev is definitely one of the happiest. It was a great joy to capture.
Another great spot for the reception and Great Fosters, a luxury hotel in Surrey. I have to say, this location is a wedding photographer in Surrey’s delight! Fantastic grounds with plenty of features to showcase a beautiful couple like Rosie and Kev. I was able to place them against one fantastic backdrop after another and let them be genuinely affectionate, reveling in the commitment of their union. There was even a hedge maze. My job can be made easier with such fantastic surroundings, but Rosie and Kev, their obvious joy in one another, is what really makes the photos here fantastic.
On the following Saturday, Rosie and Kev had a Bollywood style reception for 400 of their closest friends, and I was honored to be there to capture the celebration. There is a lot I can say about this, but mostly it was just fun! This is the sort of situation where you need a photographer who can be unobtrusive but still have an eye for all the little moments that clients like Rosie and Kev can cherish for a long time after. From all the smiling friendly faces to the playfulness of the little ones, the goal is to capture a sense of what everyone was feeling in that moment. This was an absolutely fantastic experience for the couple, the guests, and me!
Rosie and Kev made some fantastic choices in venue and styling to make their day a memorable celebration of the culmination of their love story. I’m honored to have played a part in commemorating it in photography. For the couples whose weddings I photograph in Surrey, the goal is always to give them a lasting remembrance of a joyous and memorable occasion that will be as lasting as their love.
